Nintendo Digital Conference

Sorry for the super late post. I didn’t have enough time to type this out before the Square Enix press conference which will be posted shortly after this one once i finish typing it up too.

The main focus of Nintendo’s Digital Event was Star Fox Zero for the Wii U. It is coming out Holiday this year. They are working on this game with Platinum Games, specifically the Bayonetta 2 director. You can use the gyro inside the Wii U pad or the thumb sticks to fly around in the R-Wing. The view on the TV will be in 3rd person, and you get a cockpit, 1st person view, on the game pad. This is the first Star Fox game where you’ll be able to fire straight down thanks to the Wii U controls. The ship has different transformations, the one they focused on with the walker. The walker transformation is from the never released Star Fox 2. Only one button is used for firing weapons and the remaining 4 are for the transformations. The thumb sticks are used for doing the flips, U-turns and boosts. The transformations are going to be needed in order to find everything in the levels.

For the Wii U version of Skylanders SuperChargers you will be able to use Turbo Charged Donkey Kong and Hammer Slam Bowser amiibo characters. These amiibo’s will have 2 settings that you change between by twisting the base, one setting for Skylanders and the other for amiibo for other Nintendo games.

Next up they showed us a new Zelda game, Zelda Triforce Hero for the 3DS. It is three player co-op and unlike the previous co-op Zelda games, you will not be competing over who has more rupees or force gems. They added in a mechanic where you stack on each other in a totem formation to hit switchs up on totems and enemies that are also stacked on each other. They felt a four player totem was too tall so they made it three player instead. If you play single player instead of two other Links you will have two dolls you can switch between with Link to still do all the things you can do in multiplayer. It is online multiplayer. You get your different abilities by creating/buying different outfits. You have a shared heart pool.

Hyrule Warriors will be making its way to the 3DS as Hyrule Warriors Legend. It will have all the DLC characters from the Wii U game and will add characters from Wind Waker. In the trailer they show Terra (Pirate Princess Zelda) getting a golden ocarina out of a chest.

After Zelda they showed a string of different trailers. The first was for Metroid Prime Federation Forces. It’s a Metroid Prime Hunters like game. It will have four player co-op missions as well as 3v3 sci-fi sports battle and will be available in 2016.

The next trailer was for Fire Emblem Fate for the 3DS. It will also be available in 2016.

Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei trailer was shown. It has lots of singing and dancing while fighting. This will be coming out in 2016.

Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U was next up and will be coming out December 4, 2015.

There are two new Animal Crossing games coming out this year. The first is Animal Crossing Happy Home Designers which will be available September 25, 2015 on the 3DS.

The next one is a Mario Party-like game called Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival which will be out Holiday this year on the Wii U. They show four character and each one will have an Amiibo.

They talked a bit about Yoshi’s Wooly World. It will be similar to Kirby Epic Yarn. As shown at last year’s E3 everything will be made from yarn and is co-op. You can eat your partner to turn them to a yarn ball and throw them around the map. You can either power through the levels and just have fun or you can try to get everything making the game more difficult while still having fun playing through the levels a few times. If you use a compatible Amiibo Yoshi’s skin will change to look like that character. Poochi is back and will let you know if you are near an item. You can ride around on him as well. It will be available October 16, 2015

Showed another trailer. This time for Yokai Watch for the 3DS. It’ll be out Holiday this year. You go around collecting Yo-kais and fight evil Yo-kais.

Mario Luigi Paper Jam for the 3DS is a mix of the 3D Mario world and Paper Mario. You play as both Marios and 3D Luigi.

New Mario Tennis game Mario Tennis Super Smash for the Wii U

Super Mario Maker shown off more. It is based off the tool used by Nintendo to make Mario games. Using Amiibos you can change Mario into other characters like the Wii Fit Trainer. A special 30th anniversary 8-bit Mario Amiibo is being released and will give the game a Super-Sized Mario that can be used. They are also making a Super Mario Maker Booklet that will have example worlds and tutorials on how to make a Mario game.

Got to letssupermario.com and submit your own super Mario videos and Nintendo will donate money to the non profit organization Operation Smile.
